February maintenance closure

News

Posted on 14 January 2026

This year, from 2 February to 1 March 2026 (inclusive), the Sir John Monash Centre will close its doors to the public for its annual maintenance. As it does every year, the Centre is using this period to carry out important work so that it can continue to offer an unforgettable visitor experience.

The maintenance period is always a crucial time for the Sir John Monash Centre. This year the aim of the maintenance will be to review the various facilities, repair or replace what needs to be fixed, and continue the technological upgrade of the Sir John Monash Centre, announced by the Australian Minister for Veterans’ Affairs on Anzac Day 2023.

This undertaking will involve a large number of technical experts, computer specialists and programmers who will be working in the Centre’s galleries. With only a limited amount of time available, they will take advantage of the absence of visitors to carry out major works.

The Centre’s staff will use this time to take part in various training courses, to continue to offer visitors the best possible experience, and be actively preparing for forthcoming events. The team will be available to respond to any requests for information.

Please note that during the maintenance closure, the Australian National Memorial and the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery will remain open, although access to the tower maybe restricted at times.
