Accessibility

Since August 2026, the Sir John Monash Centre has been certified by Tourisme et Handicap as a tourist destination for people with intellectual disabilities, visual impairment, reduced mobility, or who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Staff at the Sir John Monash Centre are trained and committed to ensuring that the Centre is accessible to people with disabilities. In recognition of this commitment, the Centre has been awarded the ‘Tourism & Handicap’ label across all four categories: people with intellectual disabilities, people with reduced mobility, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and people who are blind or have low vision.

The Sir John Monash Centre experience is fully interactive and delivered through a mobile application. Audio content is available through headphones or earphones, with a full written transcript displayed simultaneously on the visitor’s smartphone screen. Devices are available free of charge and our staff can assist visitors in connecting various audio devices (hearing aids, Bluetooth headsets, wired 3.5mm headphones and Apple lightning headphones).
