Accessibility

Since December 2024, the Sir John Monash Centre has been certified by Tourisme et Handicap as a tourist destination for people with intellectual disabilities, reduced mobility, or who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Staff at the Sir John Monash Centre is trained and aware of the need to ensure that the Centre is accessible to people with disabilities. On 19 December 2024, the Sir John Monash Centre team’s commitment to accessibility resulted in the Centre being awarded with the ‘Tourism & Handicap’ label for people with intellectual disabilities, reduced mobility, or who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The tour of the Sir John Monash Centre is fully interactive and the experience is conducted via a mobile application. Audio content is transmitted to the visitor via headphones or earphones, while a full, simultaneous written transcript is also available on the visitor’s smartphone screen.
