Over the Anzac Day period, many commemorations and events are held to remember the men and women who served with Australian and New Zealand units on the Western Front. Learn about these events and how to take part:

Anzac Day Services

25 April 2026 – Dawn Service

5:30 am at the Australian National Memorial. Site opens at 2:30am, pre-ceremony at 4:00 am.

8:30 am at the Villers-Bretonneux War Memorial.

25 April 2026 – Remembrance service at Vignacourt British Cemetery

11:30 am at Vignacourt British Cemetery, followed by a commemorative reception at Vignacourt 14-18.

Saturday 11 April 2026 – Remembrance walk in Bullecourt

On 11 April, a commemorative walk for the 109th anniversary of the First Battle of Bullecourt has been organised for the public. An excellent, on the ground opportunity to learn and visualise the unfolding of the battle.

10:00 am: Guided walk on the battlefield, with a description of the Hindenburg Line and the Battles of Bullecourt during the First World War.

12:00 am: Remembrance service at the Petite Croix memorial. After the service, there will be a reception in the village hall.

Wednesday 15 April and Tuesday 21 April 2026 – Anzac Biscuits workshops at the Vignacourt 14-18 Interpretive Centre

During the First World War, people at home in Australia often sent parcels to the Anzac troops to show their support. Many care packages included biscuits made from rolled oats, golden syrup and flour, which had a high nutritional value and kept well while being transported overseas. Now known as Anzac biscuits, they’re still popular in Australia today.

Saturday 19 April 2026 – Anzac Run

In the lead up to Anzac Day, Vignacourt is holding its annual Anzac Run, a race organised by the towon Vignacourt and the Vignacourt 14–18 Interpretation Centre.

The race is open to everyone, whether experienced runners or amateurs, and brings together adults and children in a friendly, sporting and festive atmosphere.

From Monday 20 to Friday 24 April 2026 – Photo exhibition “Australians and Amiens during the Great War”

To mark ANZAC Day, Amiens railway station and the University Picardie Jules Verne Campus Citadel are hosting exhibition of photographs entitled The Australians and Amiens during the Great War.

Thursday 23 April and Friday 24 April 2026 – Guided tour of Musée de Picardie

Thursday 23 April 2026 – Investigative conference by the historian Nicolas Bernard

During a investigative conference presented by Nicolas Bernard in Amiens, retrace the journey of a Frenchman who joined the Australian army following the declaration of war in 1914.

Friday 24 April 2026 – Guided tour of Amiens Cathedral

Amiens Cathedral survived the First World War unscathed and is a place of memory. Commemorative plaques and the flags of troops come to Amiens from all four corners of the world to fight recall that tragic page in the history of the 20th century. As part of the celebrations for ANZAC Day, guided tour in English of the cathedral, in the company of a qualified guide lecturer.

Friday 24 April 2026 – Australian walk in Amiens

Guided tour of the Australian Peace Garden – Garden of dreams and a stroll to the Tourist Office where a convivial moment will be offered around an exhibition on the theme of Gardens of Peace.

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m – Meeting point Boulevard des Fusillés, 80000 AMIENS – at the main entrance to the Citadel | 15 minutes before the start of the tour. Booking required.

Friday 24 April 2026 – Memorial Day Golf Trophy 2026

With its first edition in 2018, the year of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, the Memorial Day Golf Trophy has become a must-attend sporting event around the commemorations linked to ANZAC Day.

Friday 24 April 2026 – Guided tour of Amiens Belfry

An unmistakable silhouette in the landscape and history of Amiens, the Belfry stands in the heart of the city centre. Among other functions, the belfry was used as a prison and was used again as such during the war. Graffiti by Australian soldiers has been found in its dungeons. As part of the commemorations for ANZAC Day, a guided tour in English of the belfry is available, in the company of a qualified guide lecturer.

Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April 2026 – Le monde d’Antoinette

As an important rear base for Allied soldiers during the First World War, the town of Vignacourt near Amiens organises historical reenactments of the daily life in 1914-1918 in the village with Vignacourt 14-18 interpretive Centre.

Concert in Amiens Notre-Dame Cathedral
