Art & Crafts workshop
In Australia and other Commonwealth countries, the red poppy is recognised as the flower of remembrance, while in France it is the cornflower, which, like the poppy, grew easily on land devastated by heavy shelling.
For this workshop led by local artist, La Fée Lulu, the Sir John Monash Centre invites you to make your own remembrance brooch, incorporating these flowers of remembrance,, and koalas, an emblematic animal of Australia.

Bakery workshop
During the First World War, people at home in Australia often sent parcels to the Anzac troops to show their support. Many care packages included biscuits made from rolled oats, golden syrup and flour, which had a high nutritional value and kept well while being transported overseas. Now known as ‘Anzac biscuits’, they’re still popular in Australia today.
The Sir John Monash Centre invites you and your family to a workshop to learn how to make your own Anzac biscuits and scones.
