Travelling exhibition: Australians on the Western Front

Australians on the Western Front is a travelling exhibition brought to you by the Sir John Monash Centre. It tells the story of the Australian experience on the Western Front during the First World War.

Since it was first presented to the public in April 2023, the exhibition has been displayed at a number of places in northern France to share Australia’s story on the Western Front and highlight the Australian Remembrance Trail.

Through a series of 20 panels, which present the most important sites, museums and memorials for Australians along the Western Front, the exhibition traces the journey of the 295,000 Australians who served in northern France and Belgium during the First World War. Over 46,000 of them died and 134,000 were wounded or captured.

The exhibition is displayed in both French and English, and a German translation is available through QR codes.
